The bale is compressed, strapped during compression and handled as a bale.
Two Kinds of bales
• Natural-cotton, wool, etc.
• Synthetic-polyester, nylon, etc.
Typical Synthetic Bale
• Weighs between 600 and 900 lbs.
• Six or seven straps per bale.
• Bales are wrapped with material or film.
Primarily automatic heads are fixed to baler and apply straps one or two at a time, indexing across length of bale. Rebound, not applied tension, determines tension on straps. Approximately 70' of strap is used per bale.
